Engineering Paper Planes

Trip to Depuis for Engineers Week!

To kickstart Engineers Week 5th class went to Ringaskiddy to visit the Depuis plant. We learned all about 3D printing, had a tour of the facility, tried out the Virtual Reality headsets and even got to try out some robots and coding. We also watched a really cool time lapse video about the building of the wind turbines and got to see one of them up close. Lots of STEM activities gave way to a fun filled and educational trip.

Paper Challenge!

Fifth Class had great fun building tall structures using paper for Engineers Week!

Engineering with Snow!

Engineer’s Week

One of the best parts of Engineer’s Week was the visit from members of the army and Hobo the bomb disposal robot!

Wind Turbines

We really enjoyed the engineer’s visit during Engineer’s Week!

Great start to Engineering Week in 6th Class

We enjoyed a visit from biomedical engineers from DePuy Synthes in Ringaskiddy, who gave a presentation on their orthopaedic products & explained all about their wind turbines. We then had great fun trying to build our own turbines!

Lifetime Lab Workshop

As part of Engineer’s Week we were thrilled to have two visitors from the Lifetime Lab who brought a maths workshop for Fifth and Sixth Classes to explore!
